What products are available in the Store?

A:

The Store catalog includes Property Detail Report, Transaction History Report, TotalView Report, Procision AVM Report, Sales Comparables Report, and recorded document images for Last Finance, Last Transfer, and Assessor Map. Additional property-specific document images are available as well. Further details and samples are available on the Store home page.

Where does the data come from?

A:

The Store provides instant access to the largest database of multi-sourced property information from First American Data & Analytics, with coverage of property data across more than 3,000 counties nationwide, and over 7.5 billion document images.

Q:

Can I buy products for more than one property at a time?

A:

Yes, you can add reports and document images to your cart from as many property searches as you’d like, to include as a single order at checkout.

Q:

Why do some properties not have all reports and documents available?

A:

The availability of property data reports and recorded document images is dependent on the coverage of information available from the County in which the property is located. If the County coverage does not support a particular data report or document, it will be noted as “Unavailable” on the property search results page.

Q:

Do I need to have an online account in order to search for products?

A:

No, you do not need to have an account in order to search properties. However, you will need to create an online account (and be logged in) in order to add available reports and document images to your online cart for purchase and checkout.

Q:

What if I want reports or documents that are not shown in the catalog?

A:

All reports and document images available in the Store are listed on the home page (along with samples). If you have a need for reports and document images not in this catalog, you should consider our enterprise offering, DataTree.com. You can get more information here.

Q:

Do I have to create an online account to buy products?

A:

Yes, in order to add products to your cart, checkout and buy products, you must have an online account for the Store. You will be prompted to create an account (or log into an existing account) when you want to add products to your online cart and are not currently logged into an account.

What payment methods can I use to buy products?

A:

You must use a valid credit card in order to buy products in the Store

Are there any minimum purchase or other requirements?

A:

No, you can purchase the products you need when you need them on a pay as you go basis. Monthly subscription plans are available as an option if you’d like to take advantage of discounted rates. You can get more information on subscription plans here.

Q:

How does First American protect my payment information?

A:

First American does not store your credit card information. All processing and storage of your credit card information for purchases in the Store are managed by our PCI-compliant online payment processor.

Q:

How are my purchased products delivered to me?

A:

After you’ve completed the online cart checkout process and credit card payment has been authorized, your property data reports and document images will be available to you for view/download from the order confirmation page for your immediate viewing and use.

Q:

Can I save my reports and documents?

A:

Yes, when your reports and document images are delivered to you in HTML format in the Store, there will also be available links to PDF versions for each report and document image you’ve purchased. We recommend that you download and save your PDF versions to your local system.

Q:

How long are my purchased reports and document images available to me?

A:

Your reports and document images are available to you to view and download for 48 hours after time of purchase. We recommend that you download and save your PDF versions to your local system soon after purchase and delivery. After the original purchase and delivery, and within the 48-hour availability window, you can retrieve your reports and document images (HTML and PDF versions) from the Order History record under My Account. After the 48-hour download availability period has expired, you will need to re-order reports or document images.

Q:

What are the additional document links shown on viewable reports?

A:

When you purchase certain reports (Property Detail, Transaction History, TotalView) there may be additional specific recorded document images available associated with transactions listed on those reports for the subject property. Any additional available specific document images will be noted on the viewable report with an “Order Document” button, and may be purchased separately by clicking on that button to add the document image to your online cart and completing the checkout process.

Q:

What if a report or document I purchased is unusable?

A:

Under certain circumstances where a report or document image you purchased is not usable (e.g. the image was not readable, or it was generated with errors), you may request an automated Store Credit which will allow you to apply the purchase value of that item (incl. sales tax) to your next order. This only applies to Store Credits. You can request a Store Credit by clicking the link on the Order History record for the item under My Account, and requests for Store Credit must be made within the 48-hour report availability period after purchase. To request a credit card refund, you must contact Customer Service at DNAonlineStore@firstam.com.

Q:

Do I have to save credit card information with my account?

A:

No, you don’t need to save credit card payment information with your account, but you will need to enter valid credit card information at time of checkout for each online purchase. For your convenience, you may save one or more credit card payment methods. Credit card information is managed and stored with our PCI-compliant online payment processor.

Q:

How do I manage my subscription plan and do I have to use auto-renewal?

A:

You can purchase a monthly subscription plan by adding Basic Subscription or Premier Subscription to your online cart and going through checkout to complete the purchase. You will be automatically enrolled in monthly auto-renewal for your subscription and need to have a saved credit card payment method with your account for auto-renewal. To manage your subscription plan, click on the Subscriptions tab under My Account. You may opt out of auto-renewal for your subscription, but you will need to manually renew your subscription plan each month or it will lapse.

Q:

Does unused monthly subscription balance carry over to the next month?

A:

No, the available monthly subscription balance needs to be fully used in the current subscription month. If there is any remaining available subscription balance at the end of your subscription month, it does not carry over to the next month.

Q:

What if I’ve used all my available subscription balance for the month?

A:

If you’ve fully used your available subscription balance before the end of the subscription month, you may continue to purchase reports and document images in the Store at the “a la carte” list pricing, until your subscription plan renews and replenishes the plan available balance at the start of the next subscription month.

Q:

How do I cancel my subscription plan?

A:

To cancel your subscription plan, go to the Subscriptions tab under My Account and select the cancel option. Your subscription plan will be canceled effective at the start of the next subscription month (there are no refunds for partial months). Your current plan remains active for the remainder of your current subscription month, and you should use the remaining available balance before the end of the subscription month. Also, subscription plans will automatically cancel if they are not renewed for the next subscription month.

What if I forgot my login information?

A:

If you forgot your password for your online account, enter your email address at the Login page, and click “Login”. You’ll be redirected to the password entry page, and then click “Forgot Password” and follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password.

Is a multi-user company account available?

A:

No, the Store account you create is an individual account for your use only. If you have a need for a multi-user company account with company administrative functions, you should consider our enterprise offering, DataTree.com. You can get more information here.
